About Me and Vicinalis

Who I Am

Hi, I’m Matthew —a computer-science graduate who wandered through cabling jobs, late-night server fixes and small hardware hacks. I never became a “real programmer” in the classical sense.

How AI Changed My Trajectory

Two years ago large-language models exploded. Natural-language coding turned “that would be nice” into “here’s a working prototype.” Since then I’ve used AI to automate invoices, spin up micro-sites, even draft full-stack apps—skills I once thought were far beyond me.

What Vicinalis Stands For

Vicinalis is Latin for “neighbourly.” This blog is my public lab notebook for one guiding question:

How can everyday people use AI to shrink digital distance and rebuild neighbour-like trust online?

Every tutorial, prompt, and project here is an experiment toward that goal—whether it’s a 20-line script that saves your team an hour a day, or a larger tool that helps strangers collaborate safely.

Why Follow Along

Transparent Process — I publish the wins and the dead ends so you can shortcut my mistakes.

Copy-and-Paste Assets — Prompts, code snippets and deployment steps are shared under permissive licenses.

Community First — Your feedback shapes the roadmap; your needs inspire the next build.

Practical How-Tos — I also jot down concise walkthroughs of issues I run into, from rate-limiting incoming IPs on a server to wiring a cron-based backup. If it saves me an hour, I publish it so you can copy-paste the fix.

If you’re curious about using AI to solve real-life problems—and maybe build a kinder digital neighbourhood in the process—welcome aboard. Let’s prototype the future together, one small idea at a time.
